• SEPTEMBER 23 - 25, 2016

Welcome to the 4th Annual San Francisco Spikes' Folsom Weekend Indoor Soccer Tournament!

    • Bigger & Better: We are planning a larger tournament this year, so more teams from more cities will be able to participate.
    • NEW! Host Hotel: We've secured a discounted group rate at the Hilton Union Square for you!
    • More than just soccer: Expect a full slate of social events around the tournament, and a well-produced and run weekend.
    • Folsom St. Fair: And when the soccer is over, there's nothing quite like the Folsom Street Fair... anywhere in the world!

Following the overwhelming success and growth of the 2015 tournament, we brought back just about everything you loved for 2016.

This is a traditional tournament (ie register and compete as a team). You may also register as an individual and we will help match you with a team. We welcome teams of all skill levels to register.

The tournament structure/schedule will be finalized and released once team registration has closed prior to the tournament weekend. A random draw will take place prior to the tournament weekend to determine each teams' schedule. It will be made available to players during registration at Hi-Tops on Friday night.

Host Hotel: HILTON - Union Square

We're excited to announce we've partnered with the Hilton San Francisco Union Square as our host hotel for 2016. The Hilton Union Square is a great hotel with renovated rooms, an outdoor pool, a hot tub, and a gym. It's in an ideal location - an easy walk to the Powell Muni Station, Union Square, and the Sunday brunch / Folsom St Fair on Sunday!

We've secured a block of 15 rooms (double/doubles or King) at a discounted rate of just $199 / night for Saturday and Sunday nights. Our discounted group rate includes an upgrade to an 'urban contemporary' (remodeled) room and access to the gym. If you're looking to stay in a hotel during your stay in San Francisco, this is a great option! Reserve your room quickly to ensure you secure the best rate within our room block: https://resweb.passkey.com/go/spikestournament.

Beyond the Hilton there are many hotel options in San Francisco... too many to list here. However, it's Folsom weekend, which means they all book up fast and they can become expensive, so make your reservations early! We highly recommend staying in SF, rather than Alameda, the East Bay, or on the Peninsula. Below you'll find a number of hotels that are most convenient to the Castro neighborhood, close to Muni (public transportation), or are typically more affordable than similar hotels in SF.

    Hosted Housing

We are coordinating hosted housing again in 2016. We will match requests with hosts on a first come-first first-serve basis. All requests for hosted housing must be received by July 31st to allow adequate time to secure hosts and match them with visiting players. Indicate your interested in hosted housing during the registration process.

    Hotel Alternatives

And of course, AirBNB, and couchsurfing are also options.

  • FAQS

Can I play in regular cleats?

Regular molded cleats are allowed at the Bladium, in addition to indoor soccer shoes, and turf shoes.

Are there hosts that I can stay with?

We are planning to manage a hosted housing program in 2016. Details will be published as they are finalized.

    What if I don't have a team?

If you're not on a team, don't worry, we'll help match you to a team that's looking for players. Register as an individual, and you'll be placed on our 'Free Agent List', which will be shared with all coaches. If there are any players still on the Free Agent List on Saturday, they will be placed on a team prior to the start of the tournament. Everyone will get to play!

    Can women play?

Yes! Women (and people of all gender identities) are welcome to register and play in our tournament. This is an integrated tournament - there will not be a separate bracket for women.

Will there be Food at the Bladium, or the registration event Friday night?

Yes! Bladium has a bar and restaurant in the facilities, though we recommend bringing snacks to the tournament. There's nothing within walking distance of the Bladium, but you'll have an hour break to eat during the late afternoon.

    What about uniforms?

No need to bring your team uniforms. Every player will receive a tournament t-shirt that will be your jersey. We've created different color tournament shirts for each team, similar to the annual tournaments in New York and Seattle.
